Step Study Meeting Format for CRI

Start your meeting on time.
  1. Welcome and Opening Prayer
  2. Explain Small Group Expectations (Initially when a new meeting starts)
  3. Introductions
  4. Read the 8 Recovery principles/12 steps and the biblical comparisons
  5. Read Group Guidelines

    SMALL GROUP GUIDELINES

    Keep your sharing focused on your own thoughts, feelings, and actions. Please limit your sharing to 3-5 minutes.

    There is NO cross talk please. Cross talk is when two people engage in a dialogue during the meeting. Each person is free to express feelings without interruptions.

    We are here to support one another. We will not attempt to “fix” another.

    Anonymity and Confidentiality are basic requirements What’s shared in the group stays in the group. The only exception is when someone threatens to injure themselves or others.

    Offensive language has no place in a Christ-centered recovery group, including no graphic descriptions.
  6. Read a devotional from Life Recovery Bible.  Choose from any of the following: Recovery Profiles, Twelve Step Devotionals, Recovery Principles, Serenity Prayer, Reflections.
  7. Read lesson from the participant workbook and take turns sharing answers to workbook questions.
  8. End sharing and thank members for their participation.
  9. Announcements: (optional Celebrate Recovery related/program related)
  10. Assign group related tasks
  11. Encourage Accountability Teams, Accountability Partners and Sponsor
  12. Prayer Requests
  13. Close in prayer

Always ensure the meeting has officially ended before fellowship.
